This program aims to facilitate professional, social, and community connections to retain talented students after graduation in the SATX region..

Connections 

Community  Alamo Fellows will engage with various local organizations that will expose our fellows to the needs of our community and how we can work together to initiate change and do good for San Antonio.

Career  As a critical component to their professional trajectories, Alamo Fellows will participate in paid internships with local organizations that align with their majors and career aspirations.

Social and Professional Throughout the fellowship, Alamo Fellows will engage in various workshops, tours, keynote speakers, professional development resources, mixers, and networking events to increase their social and professional networks in San Antonio.

Participation Requirements  

Enrollment: Students must be enrolled at a local 4-year institution (UTSA, Texas A&M University- San Antonio, Our Lady of the Lake University, St. Mary’s University, University of the Incarnate Word, Trinity University, and Texas State).

  1. Academic Standing: Participants should be in good academic standing at their university and their majors or minors should be within the STEM field.

  2. Participation: Participants must attend at least two engagement events per semester and aim to apply for internships for summer 2025.

  3. First-Generation Status: Students must be first-generation, meaning they do not have a parent or guardian who obtained a four-year postsecondary degree.
